{"id":1607,"date":"2012-11-06T15:45:47","date_gmt":"2012-11-06T15:45:47","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/ecm.eng.auburn.edu\/wp\/emag\/?p=1607"},"modified":"2012-11-27T16:25:29","modified_gmt":"2012-11-27T16:25:29","slug":"mri-exact-title","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"http:\/\/ecm.eng.auburn.edu\/wp\/emag\/?p=1607","title":{"rendered":"Seeing things (inside) clearly"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><strong><a title=\"Auburn Engineering \" href=\"http:\/\/eng.auburn.edu\" target=\"_blank\">The College of Engineering<\/a><\/strong> held a dedication ceremony this summer for the three-story, $21 million, 45,000-square-foot <strong><a title=\"MRI Research Center \" href=\"http:\/\/eng.auburn.edu\/research\/centers\/mri\/\" target=\"_blank\">MRI Research Center<\/a><\/strong> that houses 7 Tesla and 3 Tesla scanners \u2014 two of the most powerful research and clinical scanners in the world. Both scanners are housed on the first floor of the facility, which was completed in September 2010. The second floor includes office space for Auburn faculty and staff, as well as clinical offices for local orthopedic surgeons and a distance-enabled classroom and conference room.<\/p>\n<p>The third floor houses East Alabama Medical Center\u2019s RehabWorks, an outpatient physical therapy facility, and clinics for the U.S. Army Warrior Research Center and Auburn\u2019s Department of Kinesiology. Surgeon Lee Warren operates a clinic on the third floor that specializes in minimally-invasive back and neck pain management, brain tumors and neurological disorders.<\/p>\n<p>Auburn researchers have also collaborated with partners at the University of Alabama\u2013Birmingham to hold an inaugural brain imaging retreat sponsored jointly by the Auburn University MRI Research Center and the UAB Comprehensive Neuroscience Center.
