\"1_AUP8242\"<\/a>Because This is Auburn <\/em>is a $1 billion campaign to propel the university forward through a renewed commitment to our students, a continued promise to the state and a shared responsibility to the world.
\n<\/em>
\nThe Samuel Ginn College of Engineering has embraced a bold vision to become one of the nation\u2019s premier engineering institutions by being the best student-centered engineering experience in America, a leader in providing research that improves the quality of life and fosters economic competitiveness and building a dynamic faculty that exemplifies excellence and innovation. To accomplish these goals, the college is committed to raising $200 million as part of this campaign.<\/p>\n

To meet this vision, the college has identified four key areas \u2014 student programmatic support, scholarships and fellowships, facilities and faculty \u2014 to help provide students with the tools, skills and competencies necessary to apply today\u2019s engineering and business practices in order to become tomorrow\u2019s leaders in developing and deploying the latest technologies.<\/p>\n

The college will enhance the engineering experience for its students with improvements including the construction of a student achievement center that will consolidate a multitude of student support activities and services. This center is being made possible through a generous gift of $30 million from John and Rosemary Brown, who graduated from Auburn in 1957 with degrees in chemical engineering and education, respectively. The Browns\u2019 gift of $57 million is the largest in university history.<\/a><\/p>\n

The college will also designate $70 million in funds for excellence for student programmatic support, create 250 new endowed scholarships and fellowships and create 40 new endowed professorships and chairs.<\/p>\n

\u201cTo be successful in this campaign, we need your help,\u201d says Christopher B. Roberts, dean of the College of Engineering. \u201cWe would like for our alumni to feel they are an integral part of this campaign, to recognize that together we\u2019re all Auburn Engineering. It is important for us to support the next generation of engineers and to ensure that we continue to make our alumni proud. The support of our alumni is what distinguishes the Auburn experience from others.<\/p>\n
