More than 150 graduate students presented their innovative research \u2013 from software forensics to biomass fuel production to curing agents for epoxy resin \u2013 during the Graduate Engineering Research Showcase. Hosted for the fourth year by the Council of Engineering Graduate Students, posters were evaluated by 70 judges who awarded more than $7,500 in cash prizes. First place was presented to <strong>Jonathan Cook<\/strong> in polymer and fiber engineering for his research, \u201cAmine Functionalized Polyanilines as Conductive Curing Agents for Epoxy Resin.\u201d Second and third place prizes were awarded to <strong>Nianjun Fu<\/strong> in mechanical engineering for his research, \u201cAging Induced Evolution of the Cyclic Stress-Strain Behavior of Lead Free Solders,\u201d and <strong>Alan Hanley<\/strong> in chemical engineering for his research, \u201cDeveloping \u2018Smart\u2019 Nanostructures Using Janus Nanoparticles Synthesized Via a New Method with Potential for Scalability.\u201d<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>In October, Auburn faculty, staff and alumni filled the Shelby Center courtyards, engaged by the outstanding work conducted by students from all engineering disciplines.
