Hi I’m Prutha Joshi!

Graduate Research Assistant | PhD Candidate Auburn University | Passionate Researcher | Learner

I am pursuing PhD in Polymer and Fiber Engineering (Department of Chemical Engineering) with research experience in hydrogels, biopolymers for drug delivery and biomedical applications of polymers. I have been synthesizing hydrogels from poly (ethylene glycol) diacrylate (PEGDA), Gelatin Methacrylate (GelMA), Chitosan Methacrylate (ChMA). I am skilled in FTIR (Fourier Tranform Infrared Spectroscopy), High field NMR (Nuclear Magnetic Resonance), DMA (Dynamic Mechanical Analyzer), DSC (Differential Scanning Calorimetry), Modulated DSC, Rheometer, Brookfield Viscometer and statistics (R-language, R-studio).
I am a strong team player with proven capabilities to multitask and mentored few undergraduates during my research. Moreover, I also possess troubleshooting and problem solving skills to solve technology and application based issues and perform complex tasks.

Key Interests and Expertise:

• Research Interests: Hydrogels, Biopolymers, Green materials, Polymers for biomedical applications

• Biopolymers: Alginate, Gelatine, Chitosan, Poly (ethylene glycol), Poly (ethylene glycol diacrylate), Nano-fibrillated Cellulose

• Statistics skills: R language, R-studio

• Chemistry/Chemical Engineering Softwares: Chem-draw, Origin-8.5, Solid-Works

• Organic Chemistry, Polymer Chemistry, Polymer Characterization, Polymer Processing, Macromolecular Science, Structure and Properties of Polymers
