Doctoral candidate Vivek Ahuja and graduate student Jason Cary in aerospace engineering have published a new book on missile systems design. \u201cProject SENTINEL: Design of a Long-Range, High-Speed, Precision-Strike Tactical Weapon\u201d discusses software tools developed in the department and outlines the missile design process from basic parameters to final production review. According to Ahuja, there are dozens of books on missile systems design that discuss individual components of a system, but few that detail the entire system for a specific application for review and reference purposes. Ahuja and Cary wrote the book for aerospace and mechanical engineers while competing at last year\u2019s Missile Systems Design Competition with a student team from Auburn. They received top honors at the national competition behind Georgia Tech, beating the Naval Post Graduate School for second place overall. Auburn\u2019s team was at a distinct advantage due to power missile systems design software tools developed over the years by the department for academic and research purposes.
