He was granted one of 10 Airport Cooperative Research Program Graduate Research Award Fellowships, an honor sponsored by the Transportation Research Board and the Federal Aviation Administration. Bacon\u2019s research, which gained national recognition, analyzed travel behavior by looking at groups of travelers over a period of multiple travel times.
