May, \u201990 materials engineering, joined NASA in 1991 and was appointed to his current position with NASA\u2019s Marshall Space Flight Center in February. He was named the Distinguished Auburn Engineer in 2012 and has been selected as an inductee into the State of Alabama Engineering Hall of Fame Class of 2017.
