The trio began working on an article titled \u201c\u2018My Father Was a Natural Builder\u2019: Exploring the Relationships Between Black Fathers and their Daughters\u2019 Interest, Motivation, and Self-efficacy in STEM\u201d that will be submitted to the journal Equity &amp; Excellence in Education.<\/p>\n<p>As a result of their collaboration, Thomas and Joseph were awarded $100,000 in funding from the National Science Foundation to start a conference on black girls\u2019 and women\u2019s mathematics and computing identities.
