{"id":5950,"date":"2019-06-03T14:37:47","date_gmt":"2019-06-03T14:37:47","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/ecm.eng.auburn.edu\/wp\/emag\/?p=5950"},"modified":"2019-06-06T18:04:54","modified_gmt":"2019-06-06T18:04:54","slug":"honoring-a-legacy-2","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/ecm.eng.auburn.edu\/wp\/emag\/?p=5950","title":{"rendered":"Honoring a legacy"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p>Friends, family and colleagues gathered on Friday, Feb. 28, 2019 to celebrate the career of Don Watson, research engineer and training manager, and his induction into the NCAT Wall of Honor.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Watson came to NCAT in 2001 after a 32-year career with the Georgia Department of Transportation. Watson served as principal investigator on a diverse list of projects and his practical research will have a lasting impact of the quality of asphalt pavements for years to come. During his time as training manager, Watson grew NCAT\u2019s reputation worldwide through training groups from South Korea, Russia, Mexico and Nigeria, as well as traveling to instruct ongoing training programs in Puerto Rico and Qatar. \u201cDon Watson is a man of true character,\u201d said NCAT Director Randy West. \u201cIt will be impossible to replace his 49 years of experience in the industry, but the biggest void that he\u2019ll leave is the daily influence that he has on the NCAT family.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Don Watson receives the Wall of Honor plaque from Chris Roberts, NCAT board vice-chair and dean of the Samuel Ginn College of Engineering at Auburn University.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Friends, family and colleagues gathered on Friday, Feb. 28, 2019 to celebrate the career of Don Watson, research engineer and training manager, and his induction into the NCAT Wall of Honor.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"author":26,"featured_media":5951,"comment_status":"closed","ping_status":"open","sticky":false,"template":"","format":"standard","meta":[],"categories":[6],"tags":[],"yoast_head":"<!-- This site is optimized with the Yoast SEO plugin v20.6 - https:\/\/yoast.com\/wordpress\/plugins\/seo\/ -->\n<title>Honoring a legacy &raquo;
