- Alex Summers has published his first article titled “Constructing process maps for pulsed wave laser additive manufacturing with interpretable machine learning” to the Journal of Manufacturing Processes (JMP). JMP is the official journal for the Society of Manufacturing Engineers and has a high impact factor of 6.2. – October 2023
- Dr. He and Dr. Wang have been awarded USDA and NSF grants for two studies which could address both global warming and global food supply issues. The first project, titled “Circular Aquaculture Through A Next-Generation Waste-to-Feed Biotechnology” was awarded a four-year, $650,000 USDA grant, and the second project, titled “Circular Aquaculture Through A Next-Generation Waste-to-Feed Biotechnology” was a was awarded a two-year, $200,000 NSF grant.
- Dr. He has been selected as a member of the Organizing Committee for the 2022 Advanced Manufacturing and Processing Conference to be held in Bethesda, MD. – March 2022
- Dr. Cheng and Dr. He’s paper titled “A novel process monitoring approach based on variational recurrent autoencoder” is among the most cited articles from Computers & Chemical Engineering published since 2018. – February 2022
- Dr. He and Dr. Wang’s paper on “Statistical Process Monitoring as a big data analytics tool for smart manufacturing” is ranked as the 3rd most cited article from the Journal of Process Control published since 2018. – November 2021
- The Wang and He groups have been awarded over $290,000 by the state for research into the feasibility of converting organic wastes into bioplastics.
- Dr. He has been selected as a member of the International Program Committee (IPC) for the 2021 International Conference on Industry 4.0 and Smart Manufacturing.
