The Gilmer Award is presented to an Auburn Engineering graduate of eminence in engineering. The recipient shall have been acclaimed by engineers, in the particular field of practice, to be widely known and esteemed as one of the outstanding individuals in engineering.
- The recipient shall be of unquestionable character and integrity.
- Distinctive achievements will be affirmed by patents, inventions and/or publications.
- An eminent career may be attested to by other distinguished engineers and associates.
- The award may be made posthumously.
