The Department of Industrial and Systems Engineering now offers an online graduate certificate program in occupational safety and ergonomics. The program, which is recognized by the National Institute for Occupational Safety and Health, includes five three-hour courses delivered online. Coursework in systems safety, biomechanics and human factors engineering teaches students about the design, operation and maintenance of systems and products, as well as the integration of safety and human performance considerations. Auburn’s Engineering Online Graduate Program is ranked sixth in the nation by U.S. News & World Report’s 2013 Best Online Graduate Engineering programs.
