Kristin McGhee ’18 and ’20
Mechanical Engineering
Regional Sales Support Engineer at Schneider Electric
If the enrollment office at the university starts to get a surge in applications from Nashville — Auburn North, she calls it — go ahead and call it the Kristin McGhee effect.
From her social media to her wardrobe, the double-degreed Auburn Engineer — a bachelor’s in mechanical engineering in 2018 and a master’s in materials engineering in 2020 — is a walking, talking billboard for Auburn Engineering.
“My mom signed me up for an Auburn tour when I was pretty locked on Clemson,” McGhee said. “But we were really blown away. I probably had one of the best student experiences you can have. I was involved, I was everywhere, and I’m still involved and everywhere.”
As a student, the Alpharetta native belonged to Tri-Delta, swam for the university’s club team, marched with the AUMB drumline (alongside future husband and fellow Auburn alum Jacob McGhee, ‘18, ‘20 civil engineering), and served as Auburn chapter president of the American Society of Mechanical Engineers.
As a graduate, she serves as president of the Greater Nashville Area Alumni Club and sits on the university’s Young Alumni Council.
“I just see these opportunities and I think, yeah, anything I can do to give back to Auburn,” she said. “Attending Auburn is the best decision I have ever made.”
